South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for a Combination Certified Plans Examiner. The main duty of the Plans Examiner is to review plans and verify compliance with the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code. The candidate must possess good communication and computer skills, as well as be able to work independently. On occasion, this position may be required to perform inspections and may also be called upon to assist with duties related to post declared emergencies. The individual should possess a high school diploma and Combination Residential and Commercial Plan Review certifications as a minimum. The ideal candidate would meet Louisiana State certification requirements for a Certified Building Official. Master Code Professional a plus. The Plans Examiner position is a full-time, salaried position with permanent status and fringe benefits. Benefits include retirement, health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. Starting Pay will be approximately $75,000 – $125,000 annually depending on qualification level and experience. SCPDC is an EOE/ AAE.
