Meeting the ever-changing needs and challenges of Louisiana.

Regional Transit

South Louisiana Transit

The Regional Transit Committee serves as a collaborative forum that brings together transit providers, local governments from Assumption, Lafourche, St. Mary, and Terrebonne parishes, human service agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to address transportation needs throughout South Central Louisiana. Through regional coordination, planning, and partnership, the committee works to improve mobility, identify transportation gaps, share resources, and support accessible, efficient, and coordinated transportation options for residents across the region.

Supported by the Houma-Thibodaux Metropolitan Planning Organization (HTMPO), the committee plays a key role in the development and implementation of the Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan (CHSTP). Through this effort, stakeholders work together to identify transportation needs, leverage resources, pursue funding opportunities, and improve access to transportation services for seniors, individuals with disabilities, low-income populations, and the general public.

Formerly known as the CHSTP Committee, the Regional Transit Committee meets quarterly and includes representatives from public, private, and nonprofit transportation providers, human service agencies, local governments, and community stakeholders. Through regular meetings, members share information, discuss emerging transportation challenges, coordinate services, and support initiatives that enhance mobility, accessibility, and connectivity throughout the region.
