South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for an Environmental Inspection Specialist at our Baton Rouge location. The Environmental Inspector’s main duty is to provide on-site inspections & verify compliance with MS4 requirements of the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish (City-Parish). The Inspection Specialist will also participate in education and outreach to builders and the community at large. On occasion, this position may be called upon to assist with duties related to declared emergencies. Candidates must possess good communication and computer skills, as well as be able to work independently. The individual should possess a high school diploma as a minimum and have 5 years’ minimum similar work experience, or possess an Associate’s Degree from an accredited University with some similar work experience. The position is an hourly employee with permanent status and fringe benefits. Benefits include retirement, health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. Starting pay will be approximately $24.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on qualification level and experience. SCPDC is an EOE/AAE
