The Regional Steering Committee of Watershed Region 6 will hold a meeting on August 25, 2021 at 10:00 am. This meeting is in accordance with Louisiana Watershed Initiative activities and is integral to providing a sustainable, institutional basis to increase continuity, improve flood resilience, and enable more effective flood prevention within our region. In an effort to reduce and limit the spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana, and to preserve the health and safety of all members of the public, the Governor has declared the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and
ordered that it is necessary to limit public gatherings in a single place in an effort to avoid individuals being in close proximity to one another.

As a result of the public emergency, the limitations imposed on public gatherings and personal interactions, and the need for a number of members to travel to any physical meeting location from parishes where confirmed cases of COVID-19 have occurred, South Central Planning and Development Commission does hereby certify that in order to protect the lives, property, health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Louisiana, it is giving the option to conduct the Regional Steering Committee Meeting on

August 25, 2021 by teleconference or video conference in order to assure the presence of a quorum of the steering committee members.

Therefore, in accordance with Section 4 of Governor’s Proclamation Number 30 JBE 2020: Additional Measures for COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, the Regional Steering Committee of Watershed Region 6 will hold its August 25, 2021 meeting in-person and virtually. TEDA launches Bayou Business Recovery Network to Aid Parish’s Small Business Community

August 16, 2021 Comments Off on TEDA launches Bayou Business Recovery Network to Aid Parish’s Small Business Community

Aug. 18 seminar kicks off expanded program

HOUMA – Terrebonne Economic Development Authority has a greater ability to assist Terrebonne’s small businesses and entrepreneurs working to start their own businesses thanks to a $40,000 grant from Louisiana Economic Development and South Louisiana Economic Council.

The Bayou Business Recovery Network is a tiered approach to provide technical assistance with local partners and consultants.  The program will launch with the Recovery Network Seminar Series where local consultants will deliver presentation on topics of interest to the business community, including financial and legal services, human resources and management training/assistance, and marketing and digital technology services.

For those who need more individual assistance, the Individual Network Support Opportunities will engage partners who can assist with their specific needs.  Those who have more complex problems can apply for limited one-on-one consulting with a network of local consultants.

“This is an opportunity to really dig in with local small businesses and ensure they are receiving the support they need in the changing landscape presented by this pandemic,” said Matt Rookard, TEDA’s CEO. “We encourage interested businesses to attend next week’s seminar to learn about the program.”

The Aug. 18 seminar will be conducted at 6 p.m. at the Terrebonne Parish Main Library, 121 Library Drive in Houma. Presenters will include Jason Bergeron of Stratify and Deanne Webb of Southern HR. Masks are required to attend; registration is available on www.tpeda.org/recovery-network.
