Job Opening: Program Specialist
South Central Planning & Development Commission is seeking a Program Specialist at its Houma location. The specialist will be responsible for the transition of documentation from loan application intake to loan processing and then from loan processing to closings. The specialist will be responsible for performing quality and compliance review between each transition level. They will also assist with processing leases of statewide outreach centers and various accounts related to those lease locations such as utilities. Other responsibilities include assisting with the procurement of equipment and supplies, which may include obtaining quotes from vendors and/or following the public bids law process. The individual should possess a high school diploma as a minimum and have 4 years’ minimum similar work experience, or possess an Associate’s Degree from an accredited University. Prior parish, municipal or regional experience a plus. This is a full-time, hourly position with temporary status and fringe benefits. There is the possibility of permanent status at the end of the program. Starting pay will be approximately $17.50 – $22.50 an hour depending on experience. Benefits include retirement, health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. SCPDC is an EOE/ AAE. Resumes will be accepted until position is filled. South Central Planning & Development Commission is seeking multiple Accounting Specialists.

  • This Specialist’s main duty is to handle agency travel, which includes, making all travel arrangements (flights/hotels/rentals) as well as reviewing & verifying expense reimbursement request meet agency policy.  They will also be responsible for creating monthly entries to properly allocate agency’s vehicles and equipment usage is charged to the appropriate projects. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data entry, balancing various spreadsheets & statements, and running errands.
  • This Specialist’s main duty is to assist with payroll processing and manage various payroll related spreadsheets. They will also be responsible for various time reporting entries for specific programs. Assist HR with collecting and processing various documentation. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data entry, balancing various spreadsheets and statements.
  •  This Specialist’s main duty is to assist with the financial management of the agency’s active small business loans.  These duties include but are not limited to processing monthly invoices, posting principal & interest payments, and accessing fees & additional charges. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data entry, balancing various spreadsheets and filing.

The individuals should possess a minimum of a high school diploma and have 4 years’ similar work experience or an Associate’s Degree. They must also possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word).  This are full-time, hourly positions with permanent status and fringe benefits. Starting pay will be approximately $17.50 – $23.00 an hour depending on experience. Benefits include health/dental/vision/life insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. Job Opening: Regional Revitalization Manager

South Central Planning & Development Commission is seeking a Regional Revitalization
Manager. The main responsibility of this position is to provide oversight from beginning to
end on all revitalization projects within SCPDC’s seven parish region. These projects would
include, but are not limited to the evaluation of potential project sites, building demolition,
property cleanup, property development & construction. The manager is responsible for
supervision of all work site personnel as well as ensuring staff is properly trained and
complying with all safety regulations. Other responsibilities include working closely with
local, state and federal government agencies related to code compliance and potential project
sites and funding sources. Minimum qualifications should include a High School Diploma
with at least 10 years’ experience in a related field or a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years’
experience in a related field. Prior parish, municipal or regional experience a plus. Knowledge
of or certifications in Building Codes is also a plus. This position is a full- time, salaried
position with permanent status and fringe benefits. Benefits include retirement,
health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. Starting Pay will be
approximately $83,000 – $115,000 annually depending on qualification level and experience.
