This meeting is in accordance with Louisiana Watershed Initiative activities and is integral to providing a sustainable, institutional basis to increase continuity, improve flood resilience, and enable more effective flood prevention within our region.

South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for multiple Plans Examiner positions in both our Houma and Baton Rouge locations. The main duty of the Plans Examiner is to review plans and verify compliance with the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code. The candidate must possess good communication and computer skills, as well as be able to work independently. On occasion, this position may be required to perform inspections and may also be called upon to assist with duties related to post declared emergencies. The individual should possess a high school diploma and some Plan Review certifications as a minimum. The ideal candidate would meet Louisiana State certification requirements for both Residential and Commercial Plan Reviews. In lieu of certifications, candidates with relevant experience may be considered in a position of Code Enforcement Apprentice until proper certifications are obtained. The Plans Examiner position is a full-time, salaried position with permanent status and fringe benefits. Benefits include retirement, health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. Starting Pay will be approximately $57,000 – $80,000 annually depending on qualification level and experience. SCPDC is an EOE/ AAE.

South Central Planning & Development Commission is seeking a Regional Planner with knowledge/experience in planning and its principals, grant writing, GIS, and technical reporting. Responsibilities include writing and management of Federal, State, and Local Grants. Other responsibilities may include management of special projects on behalf of the Commission and its member jurisdictions. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, have the ability to work effectively with local, state, and federal officials, interest groups, and the general public. This position may require public speaking, attendance of night meetings and travel. Minimum qualifications should include a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Business, or a related field. The ideal candidate would have previous grant writing experience. Prior parish, municipal or regional experience a plus.  Salary range:  $41,600 – $60,000 to be commensurate with experience  and education.  SCPDC is an EOE/AAE.

South Central Planning & Development Commission is seeking Loan Processing Technicians. The Technician’s main responsibilities will be to assist with reviewing loan applications to begin the process of eligibility assessments and assisting with ensuring loan compliance requirements are met. The individuals will be responsible for, but not limited to, gathering & reviewing documentation from loan applicants, as well as physical & electronic file maintenance related to pending, active and closed business loans. As part of loan compliance duties, this position may be required to do on site inventory inspections related to items purchased with loan funds. The individuals should possess a minimum of a high school diploma and have 2 years’ similar work experience.  They must also possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word).  These are full-time, hourly positions with permanent status and fringe benefits. Starting pay will be approximately $15.60 – $20.00 an hour depending on experience. Benefits include health/dental/vision/life insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave. South Central Planning & Development Commission is accepting resumes for a Loan Analyst.  This position’s main duty will be to perform underwriting for the agency’s Small Business Loan Programs.  The individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, reviewing applicant’s credit reports & tax returns, analyzing applicant’s financial documentation, and assessing the applicant’s debt-to-income ratio in order to assist in the determination of whether an applicant is a viable loan. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word).  Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years’ experience in a related field.  Previous underwriting or lending experience preferred.  This is a full-time, salaried position with permanent status and fringe benefits. Starting salary is approximately $43,700 – $56,000 annually depending on experience.  Benefits include retirement, health/dental/vision/life insurance, paid holidays, vacation & sick leave.
